US promises UNRWA contribution

The US said yesterday that it will contribute an additional $3.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). According to a statement made by US State Department deputy spokesman James Foley, "One million is for the General Fund and $2.5 million is for special projects. This brings the total FY 1999 U.S. contribution to $80.53 million."
