Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and Middle East Affairs Sayed Abu Zaid met yesterday with the Israeli ambassador to Cairo, Zafi Mazel, to discuss the recent developments in the situation in the area and peace efforts in the Middle East, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the Israeli ambassador said there is current progress in the peace process, especially on the Palestinian track, adding that Israel currently is working to start the peace process on the Syrian track, adding that the form through which the negotiations with Syria could be resumed is being discussed.
