Damascus Radio criticizes Barak's attempts to find new formula for resuming negotiations
Syria-Israel, Politics, 9/29/1999
Damascus Radio criticized yesterday the attempts of Israeli Prime Minsiter Ehud Barak to find a new formula for resuming the anticipated negotiations with Syria and Lebanon without committing Yitzhak Rabin's government to a withdrawal from the occupied Golan Heights to the June 4, 1967 borders.
In its political comment yesterday, the radio report said, "The procrastination of Barak's government for resuming negotiations with Syria and Lebanon will only lead to wasting the peace chance, and it will only serve the interest of the extremist Israeli right, which does not believe in peace and does not want it even in the present or in the future."
