Israeli forces strike Lebanese towns
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 9/27/1999

The Lebanese national resistance front has announced that resistance forces ambushed an Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia mechanized patrol at 4 p.m. Sunday on the road to Barachit position.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said its men sprayed the patrol with anti-armor rockets and that casualties were inflicted among the soldiers of the patrol.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces on Sunday stormed a number of Lebanese towns inside the occupied strip of south Lebanon.

News reports from south Lebanon said Israeli forces broke into the towns of Eita al-Shaab, Remish and Bint Jbeil, searching houses and beating their occupants. The intelligence body of the Israeli forces and their SLA militia allies prevented the inhabitants of Eita al-Shaab and Remish from going into the liberated areas.

Moreover, Israeli forces erected mobile barricades inside the occupied part of south Lebanon to stop cars from searching and investigating.

Meanwhile, the follow-up committee in charge of supporting the issue of the Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails will next Thursday organize a sit-in in front of UNIFIL headquarters in Tyre, in solidarity with the citizens of Eita al-Shaab who are detained in Israeli jails.
