Collective wedding party in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti al-Othman Almsgiving Committee will organize a collective wedding party for Kuwaiti couples in November in order to alleviate the heavy cost of marriages parties. The chairman of the committee, Ahmad Baqer al-Kandari, told the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am in its Saturday issue that the idea of collective wedding came following amazing statistics on the number of unmarried Kuwaiti women, whose numbers reached some 40,000.
