Egyptian trade minister discusses establishing council for Egyptian businessmen with Algeria
Egypt-Algeria, Politics, 9/25/1999

Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili said in Algeria yesterday on the margins of the African trade ministers' meetings that, "A new method is to be agreed upon with the Algerian Trade Ministry to open a new page that allows the commercial exchange between the two countries to come back to its high scale."

He said, "The volume of commercial exchange reached $120 million nine years ago, yet it went down to $15 million in last year."

Gowaili said, "We started forming a council for Egyptian and the Algerian businessmen, and we except that it is to convene its first meeting soon. We also pay attention to Algeria's international fair this year and that Egypt's participation increased in comparison with last year, and we also plan to establish many Egyptian fairs in Algeria during the few coming months."
