Shaath asks Israel to make haste in final negotiations
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/25/1999

Palestinian Minister of International Cooperation and Planning Nabil Shaath said,"The Palestinian negotiator could show flexibility in the normalization and security subject and in Jerusalem's case, as we do not mind that Western Jerusalem is a capital for Israel, yet we can, in the frame of the final solution, get into parts, and we do not have anything to give to the Israelis but hope of a better future for them and for us, and it is not possible to reach a peace treaty before solving all issues."

Shaath told ArabicNews.com that the US script for the final settlement remained complicated, as it includes water, settlements and borders, which Israel wants in the shape of maps to which these elements conform: the western ground water reservoir, the borders of the Jordan river reservoir, the borders of the Jordan river and the major settlement blocs.
