Morocco calls for global approach in addressing Africa's problems
Morocco-Regional, Politics, 9/24/1999

Morocco has called the international community to adopt a global approach in addressing the problems facing up Africa.

The call was launched by Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, at a luncheon he hosted on Wednesday in New York, in honor of heads of African delegations to the 54th session of the U.N general assembly.

Benaissa called the international community to adopt, in cooperation with financial institutions, a global approach in addressing the problems facing Africa.

He stressed the need to struggle against the plagues crippling the continent's economic development such as diseases and malnutrition.

Benaissa also underlined the importance of the role of the United Nations and its Secretary General in upholding the causes of peace, justice, and development.
