Mauritania-Morocco, Politics, 9/24/1999
President Mouaouiya Ould sid Ahmed Tayaa of Mauritania on Wednesday received a written message from King Mohammed VI of Morocco, dealing with the firm and brotherly relations of cooperation and neighborliness existing between the two states.
The message was handed over to the Mauritanian head of state by Moroccan minister of the Interior, Driss Basri.
Basri told reporters after the meeting that the audience was marked by cordiality and that President Mouaouiya said he shares the same views on all the issues included in the Royal message, whether at the bilateral, Maghreban or multilateral levels.
Morocco and Mauritania are both member of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) that also musters Algeria, Libya and Tunisia.
