Egyptian space scientist Farouk El-Baz visits Cairo

Dr. Farouk El-Baz said that all land reclamation projects in Egypt are good and that they work for Egypt's future because any agricultural production in Egypt's desert will benefit the future because Egyptians should populate these areas.
The Egyptian scientist, who specializes in remote sensing field, said in statements upon his arrival in Cairo yesterday afternoon that, "There are lands good for tourism, mining, construction and agriculture and for supporting all the other activities in Egypt."
He also said, "Any project for supporting the civilizational growth in the Egyptian desert is important like the Toshka project, which is a distinguished one, Toshka is an area in which there is a very big plain in which there is a enough water to cultivate nearly 100,000 acres from Naser lake, and water could be conveyed to another land west of Naser lake to be used in agriculture and construction, which are very important for increasing development in southern Egypt."
