Al-Sharaa continues his meetings in New York

On the sideline of the works of the 54th session of the UN General Assembly, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa on Thursday in New York discussed with his Irish counterpart conditions in the Middle East, the Middle East peace process and bilateral relations between Syria and Ireland.

Earlier in the day al-Sharaa met with his Ukrainian counterpart, and the two ministers discussed conditions in the Middle East and the Black Sea area and relations between Syria and Ukraine. In this respect al-Sharaa welcomed the decision taken by the Ukraine government to open an embassy in Damascus.

On Thursday afternoon, the Syrian FM met with Malta's foreign minister, and the two ministers reviewed the Middle East peace process, the prospects of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and bilateral relations between Syria and Malta.

At the premises of the Syrian mission in New York, al-Sharaa met with British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Peter Haine. Talks dealt with current conditions in the region, Middle East peace process developments and relations between Syria and Britain.

During his meeting with his Norweigan counterpart, al-Sharaa also discussed Middle East peace and relations between Syria and Norway.
