One Lebanese soldier killed, seven wounded by Israeli raids

The Lebanese resistance on Thursday launched more than 11 attacks which targeted Israel and pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia positions in the occupied part ofsouth Lebanon.
The resistance attacks were in retaliation for raids carried out by Israeli warplanes on Wednesday night, which resulted in killing one Lebanese soldier and wounding another seven.
Lebanese President Emile Lahoud described the Israeli air raid as brutal and a violation of all international norms and charters. He commended the stands of the Lebanese army and its confrontation of the Israeli attacks.
The Lebanese president added in press statements he made on Thursday in Beirut that, "Israel's aggressions by all its various means will not weaken our determination to defend our lands and commit to our national stances and our attempt to establish a just and comprehensive peace in the framework of unity of track with Syria and backing the Lebanese national resistance in confrontation of the Israeli occupation."
Meanwhile, Lebanese security sources said one Lebanese soldier was killed and another seven wounded, two seriously, as a result of the Israeli attacks against their position on Wednesday night in south Lebanon.
AFP quoted the source as saying that the Lebanese military forces opened fire intensively against the Israeli planes which were attacking several positions in al-Tuffah district at midnight.
The source added that the Israeli planes dropped some 15 missiles against this district, especially the villages of Jbaa and Ein Qana. Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli artillery bombarded Zouter East, Zouter West, al-Kafour, al-Hamra farm, Yahmur plain and the Litani river course.
The Israeli attacks also targeted al-Jabal al-Rafei, the woods of Sujoud and al-Rayhan, Aqmata farm, al-Tasse spring course, Habboush, and Mleita and Lweisah hills and al-Wadi al-Akhdar.
