Members of militant groups in Algeria have surrendered

The Algerian News Agency said yesterday that members of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) have begun to surrender to the Algerian security forces.
It added said that the GIA members belonged to the battalions of Alwafaa, Alahd, Alsalafia, and Alkhdraa, adding that among these militants, there are citizens who live in the border area with Morocco and were stopped by a group from the opposition in the area of Bani Ashier, in west the country, during the last few days.
Mohammed Kantari, a member of the parliament's legal and administrative committee, estimated the number of persons belonging to these groups at more than 500.
Meanwhile in Oran the group of Prince Moamou (60), a former officer in the army, surrendered to the security forces.
