Al-Sharaa meets with counterparts in New York

In the context of meetings he held on the sideline of the 54th session of the UN general Assembly, the Syrian foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa on Tuesday in new York met with President Ismael Guleah of Djibouti. Talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them.
Al-Sharaa's also met with the Lebanese Premier and Foreign Minister Salim Moss and discussed with him the deliberations of the UN General Assembly 54' session. The two ministers exchanged views on contacts and issues which are of concern to the two "sisterly" countries.
At the premises of the Syrian delegation to the UN GA 54th session, al-Sharaa also on Tuesday received the Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov. Discussions dealt with ME peace process developments and the role can be played by Russia as one of the ME peace cosponsors. The two ministers exchanged views on efforts made to resume peace negotiations on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks. The two ministers expressed identical views concerning the need of resuming negotiations from the point they broke off.
