Jordanian delegation to final status negotiations
Jordan-Regional, Politics, 9/22/1999
The Jordanian daily al-Doustour on Tuesday said, according to unofficial sources, that the advisor of King Abdullah, Adnan Abu Odeh, is "one of the closest candidates" for chairing the Jordanian delegation to the final status negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
In its Tuesday issue, the paper added that Hazim Nasibah is also one of the "strongest" candidates to chair the Jerusalem committee, according to sources the paper described as well-informed, while Abdul Karim Abu al-Heija will be appointed as the chairman of the refugees issue committee.
For its part the Jordanian weekly al-Sabeel expected, according to political sources, that former Jordanian Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh will preside over the Jordanian delegation in these negotiations, noting that Tarawneh maintains good relations with US and Israeli officials.
