Gaddafi advises polisario chief to return to morocco, daily
Libya-Morocco, Politics, 9/21/1999

Leader of the Libyan Revolution, Colonel Moammar Gaddafi has advised Abdelaziz Marrakshi, "president" of the so-called "Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic" (SADR/self-Proclaimed by the Polisario) to return to the homeland, Morocco, a Moroccan daily reported on Monday.

"I advise you to return quickly to your country where a new King reigns," Rissalat Al-Oumma daily quoted Gaddafi as telling the Polisario chief.

The daily added that Gaddafi reminded Abdelaziz Marrakshi that "the mission of the Polisario, that we created to struggle against the Spanish occupation, was over" with the departure of the last Spanish soldier from the Sahara. "The Polisario has no raison d'tre," Kaddafi said.

The Libyan leader gave Abdelaziz Marrakshi these pieces of advice during a meeting on the fringes of the extraordinary summit of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), held recently in Libya.
