People of the Golan protest Israeli measures
Syria-Israel, Politics, 9/21/1999

The Syrian people in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights have announced their denunciation of the treatment of a delegation representing men of religion in the occupied Golan at an Israeli inspection point, upon their return from a visit to Syria, last week.

A statement released by those Syrian citizens on Monday said that following the visit made by the delegation to Syria on Wednesday and upon crossing the Israeli inspection point in al-Quneitra, most members of the delegation were insulted by the Israeli police and security.

The statement stressed that these actions by the Israeli policemen created anger and denunciation among the people of the Golan. The statement called for investigating this matter.
