Morocco produces 7 mln tons of cement annually

Morocco produces 7 million tons of cement annually, 10 to 15 % of which are exported, a Moroccan operator said.
Morocco has 10 cement factories, belonging to four firms, Mustapha Regragui, President of the Environment Commission of Morocco's Cement firms Professional Association, told MAP.
The 10 plants' production capacity stands at 10 million tons annually, he said on the fringes of the second conference on environment protection in cement industries, held last week in Marrakesh. The event was sponsored by the Arab cement industries and construction materials Union.
The Moroccan cement sector provides 3700 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect ones. Annual investments in the field are worth $ 550 million, five million of which are allotted to environment protection.
