Gaddafi visits Egypt
Egypt-Libya, Politics, 9/20/1999

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi is to arrive today in Egypt to discuss with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak the results of the summit conference of the Organization of African Unity in Libya this month.

Mubarak was to attend the African summit in the Libyan city of Syrte earlier this month, but he canceled his travels after the failed attack against him in Port Said shortly before the summit.

The sources said the Egyptian and Libyan leaders will convene a major summit tackling the joint reconciliation process in Sudan, headed by Egypt and Libya, opposed by chief of the rebels in the south, John Garang, and supported by the Sudanese government.

The source added that there is Egyptian - Libyan coordination for Arab causes in international circles and that the Libyan leader will inform his Egyptian counterpart of the latest developments in the Lockerbie case.
