Israel permits the return of Abu Ali Mustafa

Israeli Radio said on Wednesday that Israel has permitted the return of Abu Ali Mustafa, the assistant secretary general of the opposition People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine, led by George Habash, to the Palestinian territories.

The Israeli media announced this news by the beginning of August but Abu Ali said later he was not informed about that.

Israel Radio said that Israel permitted Abu Ali Mustafa to return to the Palestinian territories at the request of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. It quoted high-ranking Israeli officials as saying that the return of the second man in the PFLP will help strengthen the number of peace supporters among the Palestinians. But the radio did not give a fixed date for Mustafa's return.
