Sudanese opposition troops mobilizing to be ready for new fighting
Sudan, Politics, 9/15/1999
The rebel People's Army for the Liberation of Sudan mobilized its fighters and obligatorily recruited other fighters to get ready for a new round of fighting.
Sources in the rescue agencies in Sudan stated that those who were obligatorily recruited were driven to basis in Uganda, where they are kept under armed guard.
The sources said, "There are preparations currently being taken for a new fighting round." A spokesman of the SPLA said the rebel group recruits old fighters because it expects attacks from the government side.
