Youssoufi confers with Guinean multipartitedelegation
Morocco-Guinea, Politics, 9/15/1999

Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi conferred Tuesday here with a Guinean delegation made up of leaders of several Guinean political parties, currently visiting Morocco to get informed on the Kingdom's political experience.

During the meeting, Youssoufi recalled the excellent relations between Morocco and Guinea and the positive economic and commercial results of the tour he had undertaken few months ago to several African nations.

The Prime Minister also expounded the progress scored by Morocco in political matters, especially the revision of the constitution (in 1996) and the interest granted by the Moroccan political parties to the promotion of their organizations and the training of their staff.

Youssoufi further underlined the importance of dialogue among all political partners to consolidate democracy.

During its stay in Morocco, the Guinean delegation will examine with Moroccan peers internal developments and bilateral relations, a release of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), which organized the trip, said.

The Institute has been implementing since 1997 programs financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to back up the democratization process in Guinea.

While in Morocco, the Guinean delegation will study how the Moroccan political parties adapted to the alternation system and the moves undertaken to improve their internal organization.
