Moroccan - Tunisian high joint commission convenes in Rabat next Sunday

The Moroccan-Tunisian high joint commission will convene its 7th session in Rabat this September 19-21, under the co-chairmanship of the two states' prime ministers, Abderrahmane Youssoufi and Hamed Karoui.
The commission is the highest cooperation body between the two states. It holds a regular meeting every year to assess trade exchanges, which currently stand at around $100 million.
Tunisian President Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali on Monday entrusted his prime minister with conveying to King Mohammed VI a message of friendship and consideration.
President Ben Ali renewed on the occasion his concern to exploit all opportunities to give a new momentum to bilateral cooperation, to fulfill the two peoples' aspirations and to push forward the Maghreban Union process.
Morocco and Tunisia are both members of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) that was set up in 1989. The union also musters Algeria, Libya and Mauritania.
