Baghdad is not concerned with UN Security meeting on sanctions
Iraq-UN, Politics, 9/14/1999

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz stated that Baghdad is not concerned with the meeting held by representatives of the five permanent member states on the UN Security Council on Wednesday in London in an attempt to find a united position toward Iraq.

Aziz said in statements in Baghdad yesterday that Baghdad, which applied the international resolutions issued for nine years, asks for its clear and legitimate rights according to these resolutions and that it is now the role of these countries to respect their pledges.

Aziz said his country will adhere to its position calling for lifting the sanctions imposed since August, 1990.
