Al-Sharaa hails Egyptian - Syrian relations
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 9/14/1999
Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa said there are no stronger relations between any two Arab states than those between Syria and Egypt on either the public or the official level.
He said, "Egypt will not be a dishonorable partner among the Arab states and Israel," emphasizing that Egypt is "the tongue of all the Arab countries and that it will not accept any concessions toward Israel, therefore Israel does not accept Egypt as a full mediator in the peace process."
He added, "The Israeli accusations against Egypt are due to Egypt's support for Arab rights and the necessity of returning to the borders of 1967," adding that his country supports Arab unity.
