European Union decides to lift sanctions from Libya

The European Union commissariat in Cairo said today that the foreign ministers of the European Union decided in their meeting yesterday to lift some of the international sanctions imposed against Libya.
The decision includes lifting up the restrictions imposed since 1986 on Libyan diplomats' travel and their movements' in the European Union member states and restrictions on employees in the Libyan consuls and embassies in the European Union member states and easing the procedures for obtaining entry visas for Libyan subjects travelling to the EU states.
The European ministers also suggested Libyan membership in the Mediterranean Sea forum, which includes the European Union's members and the states located on the Mediterranean basin.
