Kuwaiti - Algerian oil talks

Kuwaiti oil sources told the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am on Monday that the targeted average price per barrel of oil should reach, according to "Brent mixture" $25 US for one whole year between March 1999 and March 2000.
On Sunday following his meeting in Kuwait with his Algerian counterpart, Youcef Yousfi, Kuwaiti Oil Minister Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Sabah said there are two important issues to be reviewed after March, 2000: the world oil surplus and average oil prices during one whole year.
In a press statement, the Algerian minister said his visit to Kuwait in his capacity as OPEC's chairman, aims at holding consultations on means of strengthening OPEC's activities and unifying its ranks to follow the same steps pursued since March, 1999.
