Report: SLA militia members resign collectively
Lebanon, Politics, 9/14/1999
The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am quoted well-informed sources in the occupied part of south Lebanon as saying that more than 240 members of the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia had submitted their resignation from the militia, but the "militia leadership refused their collective resignation."
The sources added that statements of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on the withdrawal of his forces from Lebanon before July 7, 2000 had created unrest and confusion inside the militia.
