Floods cause displacement of 2,000 families in Sudan

Flooding of the Nile river took place in the Sudanese areas this week resulted in making more than 2,000 families homeless among the people of northern Sudan and its capital.
Official sources, according to preliminary estimates, said that some 1,500 houses were demolished, adding that an air bridge was used between Khartoum and Danqala to transport foodstuffs, medical and housing needs for thousands of citizens
The Sudanese official sources added that relief committees were established to contain the situation, which is deteriorated in the capital of the north, Danqala and the neighboring villages as a result of the floods which hit the area for the second time within this week.
