AL chief, al-Sahaf hold press conference

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid and the Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Said al-Sahaf, the chairman of the current 112th AL council session, have asserted that the positive atmospheres which prevailed in the session's meetings would help to heal the Arab rift and to create better Arab conditions. In a joint press conference, Meguid said at the conclusion of meetings of the Arab FMs that there is a need to alleviate the suffering of the Iraqi people.

For his part, al-Sahaf indicated the adverse results of the sanctions imposed on Iraq and the air embargo which results in killing thousands of Iraqi children every month.
