Report: Al-Mu'allim's term of office in the US concluded

The Lebanese daily al-Nahar said today that it has learned that the Syrian Foreign Ministry has summoned five of its ambassadors abroad to conclude their terms of office, including the Syrian ambassador in Washington, Walid al-Mu'allim, who is in charge of negotiations with Israel, and the Syrian ambassador in Cairo, Issa Darwish.

This new development comes at a time when rumours are widespread over the possibility of a ministerial reshuffle in Syria in which al-Mu'allim would become the foreign minister, while current Foreign Minsiter Farouk al-Sharaa would become the prime minister.
