Damascus hosts Arab illiteracy eradication workshop

The Arab labor workshop on revitalizing the role played by non-governmental organizations and local associations in eradicating illiteracy and teaching adults concluded its deliberations on Saturday in Damascus.
The workshop was held jointly by the Arab Network for Illiteracy Eradication and the Teaching of Adults, the Syrian Ministry of Culture and the Syrian General Federation of Women.
The participants in the three-day workshop highlighted ways of improving the activities carried out by the Arab network and underlined the importance of generalizing the experiences of members and exchanging expertise with the goal of enhancing activities and strengthening national solidarity.
The participants also commended the role played by the Arab League Education, Culture and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in supporting the Arab networking activities.
