Morocco's child's parliament holds 2nd session
Morocco, Politics, 9/11/1999
The Moroccan Child's Parliament opens this Saturday its 2nd session under the theme of generalization of schooling and struggle against illiteracy and child's labor.
Some 357 children from various Moroccan regions are sitting in the parliament composed of pupils representing the same constituencies as those represented in the adults parliament.
The child's parliament, a unique experience in the Arab world, allows children to express overtly their views and propose solutions to their problems. It teaches them democratic principles, civism and sense of responsibility.
