EU grants Morocco $ 5.3 million for developing telecom sector

The European Union granted Morocco $ 5.3 million to enable the north African country develop and modernize its telecom sector and enhance its liberalization process.
The EU made the grant within the frame of the MEDA program destined to help the Southern Mediterranean countries upgrade their basic infrastructures and improve their performances to be up to the coming challenges of Euro-Mediterranean free trade zone.
The Grant will enable Moroccan authorities supply remote zones with telecom facilities and face competitiveness in this rapidly changing sector.
