Norway backs UNICEF program to help fight child labor

The UNICEF (UN Children Fund) will assist scores of countries combat child labor through the launching of pilot children schooling programs.
The program -- dubbed "Education, a strategy for the prevention of child labor"-- includes actions consisting of the promotion of basic education for children and providing financial assistance to parents whose children are forced to work to support their families.
The two-year UNICEF program, which is backed up by Norway, also provides for the training of social workers and promoting the awareness of all involved partners on the need to protect children rights and promote their education.
