Morocco is not sponsor of pavilion at Disney World exhibition
Morocco-Regional, Politics, 9/10/1999

Spokesman of the Moroccan government, Khalid Alioua, said it is not the Moroccan state, but a private company, that is supervising the kingdom's pavilion at Disney world exhibition.

Several Arab states have denounced the theme picked by Israel to its stand in the exhibition that opens next October 1st.

Israel has decided to entitle its pavilion "Jerusalem, Capital of Israel."

Alioua said Morocco does not have a pavilion in this exhibition, renewing Morocco's constant stand regarding the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the interest it grants to all issues related to the future of the city.

The Arab League called Morocco and Saudi Arabia, the two Arab states taking part in the exhibition, to counteract Israel's propaganda by broadcasting documentaries that show the Arab-Islamic identity of the city.

Israel captured and annexed in 1967 the eastern part of the city. The international community has never recognized Israel's claim over the city.
