Portuguese, Spanish firms eye Moroccan power sector

"Electricidad of Portugal" (EDF) and the Spanish construction firm "Grupo Gragados S.A." are planning to bid for the concession contracts of the Moroccan electricity-water utilities of Fez and Meknes.
The U.S. Bloomberg finance and business agency, which reported the news Wednesday, said EDF and Grupo Gragados will submit a common bid with another Portuguese firm, "PLEAIDE," to enhance their chances of winning the contract.
EDF, Gragados and PLEAIDE have already won the water-electricity concession for the Moroccan capital city of Rabat.
