Morocco removed from US African horse plague list
Morocco-USA, Agriculture, 9/9/1999
The US Agriculture Department announced that Morocco has been removed from the list of countries affected by the African horse plague, said a communique of the United States embassy in Rabat.
The communique said Morocco is considered starting this September 20 as a safe country, according to the International Office of Epizootic standards. This decision will enable Morocco to export its horses to the United States without being put into a quarantine.
Most of the Moroccan horses can now have access to the American ports after a three-day stay in the ports.
