Morocco-UK, Economics, 9/9/1999

London will host next January a major Moroccan exhibition, "Morocco-2000," featuring industry, telecoms, investments, tourism and culture.

Moroccan industrialists operating in the fields of textiles, apparels, leather, handicrafts, food business, sea products processing, china ware, decoration items, sports equipment, telecommunication, investments in real estate projects, in tourism and services will display their products to explore the British market.

According to Mike Bridge, manager of the conference and exhibition center of Wembley, Morocco will offer more choices and excellence, mainly in fashion shows and TV programs on Moroccan cuisine.

The British ambassador in Morocco, Anthony Layden, who is patronizing the event said the economic aspect of the exhibition is exactly the kind of activity needed to increase trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

The exhibition organizers announced that a group of top Moroccan officials is expected next January in London to meet British counterparts and examine means to develop trade and investments between the two kingdoms.

The opening of the exhibition will feature a Moroccan artistic show with a host of artists and musicians. The largest couscous (Moroccan typical food) will also be prepared for the occasion as one of the activities likely to attract more British tourists to Morocco.
