Oman denies naval exercises with Iran

The Oman News Agency said an official at the Ministry of Defense denied on Wednesday reaching an agreement with Tehran to conduct Omani - Iranian joint naval exercises.
He said, "It was not agreed to make any joint maneuvers between Oman and Iran" and that what has been published in this respect is baseless.
On last Sunday, commander of the Iranian naval force, Admiral Abbas Muhtaj, announced that Iran and Oman are intending to organize joint naval exercises in the Gulf.
The two countries, which overlook Madiq Hormiz, have recently agreed to cooperate in the military field and to exchange experts for supervizing their maneuvers.
