Lebanese minister: Albright's visit to Syria, Lebanon were exploratory

Lebanese Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Issam Naaman said the visit of US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to Syria and Beirut was an exploratory one, during which Albright called for negotiations on the Lebanese - Syrian tracks.
In a private statement to Egypt's Sawt El-Arab radio from Lebanon today, Naaman added that Lebanon gave confirmations to Albright on several points: the Lebanese refusal to settle the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, Lebanon's adherence to the Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon according to UN Security Council resolution 425, and Lebanon's adherence to the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks.
