Sudanese minister commends OAU backing to Sudan

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has expressed his hope that the Organization of African Unity will pay a special attention to Sudan's causes.

The Sudanese foreign minister added that during his meeting in Tripoli with OAU Secretary General Salem Ahmad al-Salem he explained the developments in US - Sudanese relations, especially the appointment of a US envoy especially for Sudanese affairs.

He added that he discussed with Salem preparations made by the organization to convene the special African summit in Libya today and tomorrow.

Othman and Salem are currently in Tripoli to take part in Libya's celebration of the 30th anniversary of al-Fateh revolution of September 1 in Libya and to prepare for the special African summit.
