Hizbullah denies responsibility for exploding Jewish firms
Lebanon-Argentina, Politics, 9/8/1999
The Lebanese Hizbullah Party on Tuesday denied that it had exploded Israeli embassy in Argentina at the beginning of the 1990s and accused the US of fabricating accusations.
In a statement in Beirut, the Hizbullah Party said that such accusations are but a political provocation and not a neutral judicial sentence, adding that building such accusations on information from the CIA is extra evidence of this accusation's political nature.
The Hizbullah denial of these accusations came in reply to the decision taken by the Supreme court in Argentina last week to issue an arrest warrant for Imad Maghneih, who the authorities say was behind the two attacks in Buenos Aires and who is a Hizbullah official and the former chairman of the al-Jihad movement.
