Russia calls for maintaining progress on the Syrian track
Syria-Israel-Russia, Politics, 9/7/1999

The Russian Foreign Ministry has stressed the need to achieve progress on the Syrian - Lebanese track in the Middle East peace process according to UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338.

A statement released on Monday by the Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia intends to continue its efforts to guarantee progress, simultaneously, on all peace process tracks.

The statements described the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement between the Palestinian government and Israel as a sort of progressive development, noting that Russia will continue active backing for implementing measures that have been agreed upon by the two sides.
