Some 46 African countries take part in special summit

Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi is to inaugurate tomorrow the fourth exceptional African summit, which will last for two days.
The assistant secretary for the African affairs at the Libyan Foreign Ministry, Ali al-Tureiki, has announced that some 46 African presidents and prime ministers are expected to take part in the special summit which will start on Wednesday in the Libyan city of Syrte.
In a press conference he held on Sunday night, al-Tureiki said that two African states will be represented by a delegation on the level of foreign ministers. He added that some 26 observers will attended this summit, representing various regional, Arab and international organizations.
Al-Tureiki said that amending the charter of the Organization of African Unity will be the essence of the summit's deliberations and that several proposals are debated in this respect.
