Sudanese president commends Libya
Sudan-Libya, Politics, 9/7/1999
Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has commended the steadfastness of the Libyan people in confrontation of large challenges they underwent as well as the steadfastness of the Libyan revolution of September 1st and its ability to eliminate obstacles.
In a statement he made on Monday upon arriving in Tripoli, the Sudanese president described Libyan - Sudanese relations as solid and remarkable. He added that these relations stem from the common conviction shared by the Libyan and Sudanese sides that they are one people.
He added, "Our relations now have become vaster, more comprehensive and of a deeper framework. It is the coalition of the countries of the coast and the desert, a starting point in the heart of the African continent towards unity and integration."
