Sharm agreement to affect dialogue between Arafat, PLO factions
Palestine, Politics, 9/6/1999
Ali Badwan, the spokesman of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, under the chairmanship of Nayef Hawatameh, confirmed that the agreement signed recently at Sharm El-Sheikh has created negative atmospheres in the dialogue to restore national unity between the Palestinian government and factions of the PLO.
He added that the Sharm agreement put the political process in another hand.
Khaled Fahoum, the head of the follow-up committee that comprises nine Palestinian opposition factions in Damascus, stated that the only positive side of endorsing the note for implementing thew Wye accord is that it ends the transitional stage and agrees upon resuming final status negotiations.
