Moussa: Implementation of Wye accord to be guaranteed by US, Europe, Egypt
Egypt, Politics, 9/6/1999

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stated that there are Egyptian, European and American guarantees of implementing the revised Wye accord signed on Saturday in Sharm El-Sheikh, adding that the implementation of the agreement is to begin within a week.

Moussa said it is not a political but an executive agreement for the Wye River accord through a definite timetable.

Meanwhile, Moussa voiced Egypt's relief for the great efforts that led at last to the end of the Palestinian - Israeli negotiations with their agreement on implementing the Wye River accord.

Moussa added that there are contacts for activating the Israeli - Syrian track in peace negotiations, saying that the current contacts include US assurances to encourage the Syrians to come to the negotiating table.
