Gaddafi confers with OAU secretary

Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi on Saturday night in Tripoli received the secretary general of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) Salem Ahmad Salem who arrived in Libya to take part in the special African summit to be held in Tripoli next week.
The OAU secretary general briefed Gaddafi, during the meeting, on intensive preparations taken to convene this summit. He stressed the importance of this summit, of which the African continent expects maintaining its unity and preparations to withstand challenges of the next century.
