Jordanian premier confers with German minister

Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh has expressed his hope that signing the agreement on the implementation of the Wye River accord between the Israelis and the Palestinians would pave the way for the Middle East peace process on all tracks.

This was expressed during al-Rawabdeh's meeting today in Amman with German Minister of Cooperation and Development Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul and members of her accompanying delegation currently visiting Jordan.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them.

For her part, the German minister expressed her hope for the resumption of the peace process on all tracks to achieve a just peace in the region. She asserted the importance of cooperation between Jordan and Germany and drawing of appropriate mechanism for such a cooperation.

She expressed her country's readiness to back Jordan and help alleviate its debts. She said that the European partnership with Jordan will positively reflected in the countries of the region in general and in Jordan in particular.
